Aristocratic and Democratic

This isn't about politics. It's about how you naturally process social information.

Aristocratic People

• Perceive individuals within context of groups and structures
• Aware of how people fit into hierarchies and affiliations
• Feel genuine membership in groups and distinguish between in-groups and outsiders
• Adjust communication style based on who they're addressing

Democratic People

• Perceive individuals as individuals first
• Group membership is secondary information
• Feel like individuals who happen to affiliate with groups
• Treat everyone the same regardless of position

The key difference: aristocratic people see the forest (structures) first; democratic people see trees (individuals) first.

If you're aristocratic, remember ideas can come from anyone. If you're democratic, remember acknowledging hierarchy can be strategic.

Both perspectives see real aspects of social reality.
